2011 University of Racing Legends Series 1/24 scale diecast metal collectable of #28 LaFayette Ford sponsored 1965 Ford Galaxie raced by Fred Lorenzen in the Grand National Series. This is the fifth release in the University of Racing Legends Series and once again they have done an unbelievable job of producing another beautiful collectable.  This is the signed version of this car and was signed across the hood by Fred with a black Sharpie.
Fred was known as the "Golden Boy" of NASCAR racing. He was the first driver to win $100,000 in a single racing season. From 1961 to 1967 Fred raced the famous white and blue #28 Holman Moody Ford in 158 races and had the highest winning percentage of any driver that ever raced. The highlight of his carer was racing this ford to Victory at the 1965 Daytona 500.  This car features an all metal diecast chassis, opening hood and trunk, functional steering and a highly detailed and fully wired and plumbed 427 cubic inch engine. It has Fred's famous white and blue car color and authentic #28 Ford Galaxie graphics and design. There's lots of chrome including the grill, both bumpers, door handles and hood and trunk hold-down pins. It even has burnt tips on the exhaust pipes.
