Greetings! This week I am offering a fine selection of vintage 1950's and 60's Volkswagen toys, including some seldom found rarities. The iconic Beetle Käfer with split, oval and square rear window, Cabriolet convertible, the stylish Karmann Ghia, split window "barn door" passenger bus, utility bus vehicles, the classic "bay window" bus, and the 1500 Notchback are all represented. Tin, plastic and diecast in a variety of scales are on offer. Manufacturers include Wiking, Cursor, Dressler, and Schroeder of Germany; Bandai of Japan; Eca (Spain); Ribierinho and Vitesse (Portugal); with Marx and the exceptionally scarce Lucky 1500 Notchback from Hong Kong to round out the group. They have been cherished as a part of my personal collection for many years, and are now available to add to yours!
This auction is for the scarce vintage 1960's Ribeirinho (Portugal) Volkswagen Vw clear top (Glasbus) model in beautiful mint original condition. This attractive model is nicely made in 1/40 scale, 4 inch (105mm) length, based on the famous contemporary Wiking clear top promotional model. Darker red hard plastic construction with clear top factory glued to the body, detailed chassis, green plastic driver with cap, black hard plastic steering wheel, interior seating, black plastic wheels on metal axles, and features silver painted head lights, and "Vw" embossed front logo.  A real gem that displays well with Wiking 1/40 models!
