PD 28 was one of the ex-Southdown Motor Services Leyland PD 3/4 that CMB purchased to operate on the Hong Kong cross harbor routes.  The opening of the first cross harbor tunnel in Hong Kong in 1972 generated tremendous demand in passenger traffic, and ex-UK buses were purchased as stop gap measures for fleet expansion when British Leyland ceased the production of front engined double deckers, which was the mainstay of franchised buses in Hong Kong at that time.
A total of 76 "Queen Mary" type Leyland PD 3/4 were in the CMB fleet, and all had Northern Counties FH39+30F bodies.  They were equipped with Leyland 0600 engines and Leyland constant mesh manual gearboxes.
The PDs were the first batch of CMB buses with Leyland engines in the all Gardner fleet.  The windows were modified to full depth sliding type to suit the warm weather in Hong Kong.  PD 28 originally had a 1958 UK registration number of TCD 827.  It was first registered in Hong Kong in January 1973, and licensed to carry 15 standees.
This sharp looking, hard to find 1:76 model, made in 2000, comes with a numbered Limited Edition Certificate Card in a plastic display case.  This bus is still sealed in original plastic wrap (see pics #5~#8 above).  Please also check out the blue version of the CMB Bus (Corgi 41908) listed separately on my eBay listing (shown in the last picture for illustration purposeonly).
All my models are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free home.  This model has never been out of the box since I bought it except for taking the pictures.  It would make a great addition to your diecast bus/Hong Kong CMB model collection!
