Lewis Coaches was started in 1919 by Charles G. Lewis upon his return from service in the flying corps.  His open top charabanc became known around Greenwich and the Company grew, recognized by its maroon and white livery.
By 1939, it had over 20 coaches and many were commandeered with one seen at the D Day landings.  Amongst its many hires were the Royal Naval College, The R A Band, the Russian and Chinese Embassies, and the Charlton Athletic cup winning side of 1947.  With the forthcoming millennium, the Company decided to amend the livery to depict the Thames at Greenwich, and the Meridian Liner, retaining the well known Lewis logo.  Lewis of Greenwich is still a family business, now in the third generation.
This great looking, hard to find 1:76 model, made in 2000, comes with a numbered Limited Edition Certificate Card in a plastic display case.  The case has a crack on one side, and a small plastic hole at the corner of the other side.  Please also check out the other UK OOC buses/coaches on my eBay listing.
All my models are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free home.  This model has never been out of the box since I bought it except for taking the pictures.  It would make a great addition to your diecast bus/OOC model collection!
